Bummer! I have emailed the first pics to Johnny VD H for his opinion, but it looks like it was not needed. I'll let you know what he says, when I get a reply. I hope it was cheap and/or you can return it if the final verdict is bad.

Whatever its just an opinion.
Thanks Jerry, will wait to hear from Johnny VD H, but am not holding much hope for it.
What about the KM coastal artillery pieces that were supposedly made in France, they had loose threads too.
Tom
Johnny was one of the champions of them, but I think they were a special case, but as I am sure you realise, we were not there and we can only form opinions which are largely based on other peoples efforts and from association with known originals that have history with them. As you know, I was originally against the 'French' Km K Art cap eagles, but Johnny's arguments were persuasive and it was a combination of factors that meant some collectors now consider them original, whilst others still think of them as fakes.

First one posted looks good to me.
I remember yes, but I'm thinking that if this stands true for the KM badges, what's to say they never made other badges too?
I did a burn test on the threads of my badge and they burned away to nothing, not at all like the synthetic threads.

Thanks Ben. At present 1 aye and 2 nays....

Jerry, it's after 10pm here now, so will have to wait for tomorrow.
