Help with a Oberst tunic in the Gebirgsjäger.
Hi! gents.
I have been offered this jacket by a collector friend.
But I'm a little unsure of it ???
I've heard that there should be no factory stamps on jackets for senior officers?
Or am I just completely wrong out there?
I would be very grateful for any opinions about this jacket as it will probably be quite expensive.
Sincerely:
Michael.

This appears to be an original Other Ranks’ tunic, upgraded to officer use.
Not an uncommon thing, but await further comment upon originality..

Hello,
This is an issue Feldbluse 1933 modified 1936 accepted at the Erfurt military depot in 1938 and that has been heavily modified and sized down, apparently for a high ranking Officer. The collar was replaced or modified, torso was sized down (moved buttonholes, restitched lining), holes for the hooks were removed, waist pockets were patched and french cuff were added...
I don't know if it's the light or not, but i find the green on the shoulderboards quite dark, i mean not as light as it should be for the Gebirgstruppen.
As it is an issue Feldbluse, it should bear a BeVo Edelweiss, but naturally the rules do not apply to an Oberst...
Thanks

The Cyrillic initials ‘NAI’ are interesting..
Difficult/impossible to explain their presence now.
I like it a lot.
