As the word bau mean building, i assume this was a"group" that had its task to do engineering? The info. I have found mentions civilian construction employees. Did these people use visors such as shown in this nice thread: Luftwaffe OR/NCO visor cap with black piping
And opinions on the patch are welcomed.

I have to agree with Doug, these were produced as late as 1944/45 before the majority of Luftwaffe Construction units (Bautruppen) were transferred to Organisation Todt.

Some may be crude looking and of less quality. Here is another original example:
