Can’t decide between this or a hj flak cap!
Can’t decide between this or a hj flak cap!
This and the HJ Mütze you show elsewhere are both very nice examples... as for which one, I don’t envy your decision.
Flip of a coin?
If one of these were to sell before you decide, which would you rather it was?
Imagine that little ‘sold’ tag appearing on each, the next time you view them; which would make you feel the sickest?
I hope that helps you with your agonising choice.
It would be this cap for me, but I don't know your collecting interests as well as you do!

Interestingly, I have a cap like yours with the exact same maker.
The stamps in mine:-
1944
RFN 0/0454/0041 - (RFN replaced the RB Nummer system in late 1944 I believe)
(size) 56
0454 indicates a maker in Minden (Westfalen), 0041 being the individual maker, sadly not known to me.
Mine came form the son of a British Army Major, who brought this cap and a flag (I only have the cap) as souvenirs back from the war.

I have a lightweight Luftwaffe M43 cap by the same maker....
And another one! This one has a variant ribbed lining, whatever they could use I'm sure...
RF number 0/0454/0041. Dated 1944 - size 57cm
I don't doubt this manufacturer was a prolific maker of these caps in 1944, hence the number of surviving examples.
