Thank you! Really detailed answer. I can't believe the jacket is original. I concluded that there are probably several options:
1. the jacket was sewn in a private workshop during the war
2. the jacket was made by an enthusiast after the war
3. Definitely not standard tailoring for the WW2 period
4. definitely not a modern copy
that is, without an exact definition, just another moth feeder...

You are welcome. Without examining it in hand and without knowing the exact provenance of the jacket, I cannot really form an opinion about it possibly being a "one off" but still period made piece.

There are some well-documented wild variations that exist, to include a wrapper made with a front zipper! But without such concrete history...
