I am interested in the subject "Reichsbetriebsnummer", and my question is: All the companies in the Reich, had an RBNr? ... or only the companies that collaborated with the "war effort"?

Only companies which were contracted to make items for the war effort were given a number.

Dear friends: I have a postal envelope from the company "Heinrich Habig Aktien Gesellschaft", RBNr: 0/0539/5080. From the town of Herdecke (Westfalen) (0539). The company won the prize of the "Deutsche Abeitsfront" (DAF): "Gaudiplom für Hervorragende Leistungen". The company appears in the list of companies that exploited slave labor. I think it was a dry cleaning and printing company. Does anyone know what kind of product he made ?? or what kind of contribution for the war effort did this company ?? Thank you so much.

"Chemische Fabrik Dr. Hugo Stoltzenberg", was a chemical factory in Hamburg. The CFS was founded on 01.15.1923 by the chemist Hugo Gustav Adolf Stoltzenberg. He worked during the First World War on the German poisonous gas project.
During World War II, CFS continued to supply gas masks and other devices for gas protection. Another important field of activity was the nebulization for the protection of production facilities during air attacks. For this purpose, candles called "Nebelsäurefassgeräte" were used in addition to the smoke. In addition to the production of signals and light sources, which were also used for deception maneuvers in air attacks. In the allied bombing of Hamburg, the CFS was severely beaten. At the end of World War II, the factory in Eidelstedt, the offices and other commercial facilities of the company were destroyed.
Postal piece of my collection, "Gebühr bezahlt", circulated in November 1945.
Once the war was over, the already printed postal material continued to be used due to the shortage of paper.
It is printed with the RB-Nr .: 0/0496/0016
    0: Industry.
    0496: Hamburg.
0016: Serial number of the business.
