I don't know how I missed this. Really glad you are enjoying the tunic! As I related, I had been the custodian of this tunic since 1989 when I was young like yourself, and thought it fitting to pass to another young collector.
I didn't do anything to the tunic over the years other than have the breast eagle (which came in the pocket) reattached - and that didn't go exactly right. If you want to add a splash of color like an EKII ribbon, perhaps just pass it through the button hole and fold the bottom side up and see if it will stay like that rather than sew it on. Or if necessary a very thin sewing pin to hold it in place on the backside. That way you aren't "messing" with the tunic.

You do raise a valid point. Us tankers are a shady lot. However, any infantryman that served with us knows that tankers always have the best stuff hidden away in their sponson boxes!

You may wish to add a Zeltbahn and Seitengewehr to your list of items to complete a display. I wholeheartedly encourage you stay focused on completing it for a display in this manner. Neil
