    Very informative thread JP. Thanks for posting. I used to think that DAK tunics should only have tropical insignia. The posted photos show that this is wrong. Even 1st pattern tunics worn in Africa are seen with continental insignia. Not to mention the uncommon, as Mark said, tropical tunics with panzer tabs.

    I'll see if I can find one photo I have of a wool tunic with tropical straps....that's also not a common image.

    Hi Nigel,
    I'd say Micklei's cap has a proud peak, shading just slightly the lower section?
    Here's a good image I recently picked up.
