    Hi

It is a M28 pattern walking out/dress tunic for the Army. These were introduced for the Reichswehr and this one is piped pink so would have originally been for the kraftfahr troops.

However the stamps show it was (M35) accepted at the munich depot in 1935 and issued to the panzer abwehr unit (battalion 25) who had pink piping but were an integral part of an infantry division.

    hope this helps

    good original tunic IMO

    Tony

looking at the tunic the cuffs have been tailored IMO as they may have had the turn up sleeves originally. The piping up the front is correct as they were intended for parade and walking out dress. The Reichswehr did not have a waffenrock and used their field tunics.

Also had the top pockets taken off ?

Here are some pics to help comparison........photo of nco in the walking out tunic. A pioneer officers m28 tunic to show the cut, an officers field tunic M28 as comparison.Plus the cap to go with your new tunic !

The walking out tunic had 8 buttons and the field tunic had 6 buttons from 1928 onwards if that helps clarify which tunic it may be,

looking at the dealer photos I think the collar may also have been tailored as it looks like one used for the M36 tunic. Hard to say from the picture but the difference is the M28 had field grey cloth collar and the M36 had the greener colour.

Put you off yet or are you going for it ? Nothing wrong with the tunic being tailored btw as it was common period thing to do, I have a waffenrock converted to a combat tunic in my collection.

    cheers
