Hello
Any thoughts on that tunic ?
According to Lexikon on the Internet:
Artillerie-Regimenter - Lexikon der Wehrmacht
"Das Artillerie-Regiment 183 wurde am 1. Dezember 1939 auf dem Truppenübungsplatz Bergen, im Wehrkreis XI, aufgestellt."
Regiment was created in 1939 and the first officer in command would be the Oberst Werner von Gallwitz , until 4 March 1942
This officer was part of the Artillery Regiment 9 from 1934 to 1939 as a Lieutenant Colonel
"Oberstleutnant Werner von Gallwitz 1. Oktober 1934 - 26. August 1939"
Based on the forum ( Generalmajor Werner von Gallwitz (1893-1944) - Axis History Forum ) where his record is:
Oberstleutnant: 1 April 1937
Oberst: 1 April 1940
Generalmajor: 1 October 1943
It is very likely that it was his tunic of which he added the numbers of the new battalion before his promotion of 1940.
What do you think?
Louis.
Looks like a fine original tunic to me! It's in the older style, eight buttons and the slash lower pockets. Likely for an older WW1 veteran but can't say if this is actually Gallwitz's tunic.

Hello Joel
Thanks for the advise, I will try to get my hand on it !
About Gallwitz's clue, it was just by looking at the regiment historical information but without any confirmation !
