Hard to believe that this thread dates back to July 2013.

For myself at least, no new information and still, the article within the Military Adviser (Winter 2004/2005) under the title of "Reichsarbeitsdienst Belts and Brocade Belts" and which was penned by Wilhelm Saris, offers the only tantalising glimpse. Again it would appear that Wilhelm had previously seen a non swastika to spade and experimental RAD buckle by F. W. Assmann & Söhne, albeit a Leaders type.

Talking about a RAD spade without a swastika, the attached manipulated image simply illustrates a loose coincidence, as no more and no less.
