Decal Help Please?

Any one with better eye sight than me, give any clue to what these rusty decals could be?

They look as though they are orange in colour (?).

The bottom picture shows a shield clearly..

Without the flash, the pictures are too dark to see.

Could it be a luftwaffe eagle? I am not an expert on these but I sort of see the eagle shape. Double decal m40? Possibly. Rely on others with more knowledge. Just trying to help.

That looks good, but, is the Eagle too far down?

The Swastika would be very low, almost in the helmet crease.

It certainly has the "look" of a Lufty eagle though..

The helmet was painted grey and when I stripped it, the grey paint became all mushy and washed off easily.

It took less than ten minutes for it to be completed.

No original paint was underneath and I think the grey paint used, was water based.
