I overlooked the date of the knife initially, and agree with Ger the solid enameled diamond seems early on a 1937 knife. However a close look at the diamond displays no obvious patina difference between diamond and knife which suggests to me they've been together a long time. It may well be a post factory replacement perhaps fitted during the TR era. These knives were often damaged during use and repairs did occur.

Hi,
Interesting discussion. Not pretending to be an expert at all, I'm happy with all the info that is given.
That camera on my phone never ceases to amaze me.
Made this close up from the diamond and pretty sure it's original. TR era replacement? possible, why not.
