I would guess genuine.Just dreadful condition.
Scabbard is Period..the knife appears postwar.
Logo is one I never seen for a period HJ Knife.

I'm fairly sure that Seal logo mark was not used by a Solingen maker during the TR period. But post WW2, in the 1950's and early '60's various small blademakers and contractors clubed together to produce export hunting knives and "scout knives" (as Ger shows above) which partly drew from left over TR era parts or used the original dies to manufacture the knives post war. The blade profile on this one is also different from the HJ knife. Scout knives are regularly modified to appear as a HJ knife by the usual dishonest crowd. Buyer beware.
