Original diamond on this 1942 HJ Eickhorn?

Article about: Hi there, Got this late-war Eickhorn from 1942. I think the knife is an original (with the over-the -shoulder-squirriel), but is this diamond original? Thanks! Willem

It is a nice late production Eickhorn HJ knife. That late logo on an HJ knife is fairly hard to find. As to the diamond, I imagine your question relates to the enamel red/white backing without the pebbled effect. There is some debate about whether these are authentic, I recall Mac 66 has done some research into the question and I would agree they are a late period variation. Any movement to the diamond? Scabbard may have been repainted.

    Thanks. The diamond moves.
