Extremely late war ?
The logo is nothing like anything I've seen on E&F Horster cutlery.........
Regards,
Steve.

This version of the Horster logo does appear occasionally
Here's an example I found.
Militaria - German bayonet + scabbard E&F Horster bone handle - Auction: 9128933 (Ended 05/16/2009, 07:55:23 PST)
I agree it is very poorly struck.

I assume that the latch is a replacement on that bugger. Went kind of high don't you think? Would you think that this one is late? I like the front and back marking. Mine only has the logo on the front. Nothing on the back. Now I am going to have a look on Auction Arms again. I went with Gun Broker for the greater traffic. Doug
Hello,
first a question. Is the handle made of steel and magnetic or made of a zinc alloy and non-magnetic.
To me, this bayonet looks more like an early version. The handle scales have long lozenges as they were used until 1934.
This Hörster logo can be found on very early pieces for ex. Authorities. Like here on a bayonet for Zollgrenzschutz - Customs Border Guard.
For me an early Extra-Bayonet or an official piece (such as for the Saxony police until 1936).
Regards
This is mostly a Weimar period piece with the large Horstator logo.i assume it was used by some armed organisation, like SW mentioned, should be attachable on Gew98 and steel handle.
hello Reibert, that piece looks like a zinc guss handle not steel? its magnetic?
Andy, not sure, if I have this bayonet still in my collection.
Images are 10 yrs. old ...
Have to look for it.
Thanks ,dont worry about, when it found good home, no problem.
