Default edged weapon of Regiment General Göring

    Hi
one question on edged weapons of the Herman Göring Division.

I have a Tunic of a Oberfeldwebel which was -according to the Markings- used in a Stabskompanie, and propably in the Sturzkampfgeschwader 165 which was risen in 1936. Then the tunic saw service in Abteilung III Regiment General Göring- which was used as a guard.

My question:which edged weapons did a Oberfeldwebel wear during duty and with the walking out dress, or in other words: what was allowed.
What about Portepee and Troddel? Had there been special ones for the guard?

Walking out, off duty with a KS98 bayonet and an appropriate faustriemen (troddel), on duty with rifle, the S84/98 bayonet would be the edged weapon used. I'm not aware of a unique type of troddel for the Herman Goring Division.

    Hello,

    A Oberfeldwebel was a portepee non-commissioned officer.
On duty he wore an S84/98, S24(t) or a corresponding booty bayonet. The Luftwaffe had a few models there.

He could wear a dress bayonet or a dress saber for non-commissioned officers with the dress suit.

He could carry the Luftwaffe portepee on each of the weapons.

    Regards
