Hello,
i want to start this threat about very late war or 1945 bayonet frogs.
at first... a frog made out of "Presstoff".
frog types...made of cellulose and British webbing 1937. Maker cmx45
frogs made of reworked leather parts hcy45
frogs made out of captured garments, manly russian and britisch webbing
frogs made out of breadbag or russian garment
Very interesting - they were certainly at a desperate time to re-purpose old material ( recycling - nothing is new )
Cheers, Dan

i think they also made new ones... but the most are with RB-Numers without date... so i can not 100% say if they are from 1943 or the End 1944 /1945
Indeed very interesting
Wow! Very interesting tread indeed. I also have one of the frogs who is made of presstoff. Does anybody knows when they started too use this material to make bayonet frogs?
Best regards
Arvid
From datable pistol holsters which were generally for non-Army users such as the German Police, 1943 and 1944 seems to be what is for the most part what is seen. With the German Police experimenting as early as 1938 with another type of laminated material bayonet frog, and again in 1941 (with another different type of laminated frog than was made in 1938). Regards, Fred
