A very nice Frederick Abr. Herder & Sohne made S 84/98 from 1939. Always nice to see these bayonets from the mid sized Solingen makers. I understand the company had family links to the more commonly seen Richard Herder company, though both had been around a long time by 1939. Your photos are excellent by the way. I noticed the nail tack marks on the mortice bolt. These marks we frequently see on Polizei bayonets as officers often used their bayonet as a convenient hammer to tack up notices. In this case it is a military contract bayonet, but may well have been used by an officious NCO or military Policeman.
That's interesting. Thanks.
WOW!! what a low #!!
Another, year 1942, manufacturer again F. Herder A Sn.
nice piece, mainly the lower serial one, the maker is F.Herder A.Sn, the 113 is low number, the 42ffc looks like replacement locking nut, from pictures like little sharpened? or it was only cleaned on edge. the frog hook was probably repaired by new brazing on body.b.r.Andy
Hello Andy, thanks for the comment. It is not sharpened, is scuffed.
To Andy: zdar známe se z škodaabzeichen fóra
