Fake k98 etched dress bayonet ?
Fake k98 etched dress bayonet ?
Really good and more pictures would be an asset with making an evaluation, but from what I can see it looks OK. The scabbard, frog, and knot later additions from something else. Best Regards, Fred
Thank you for your time
Not great photos, but I would say an authentic etching. The etching is one designed by the company Robert Klaas but was licenced for use with some other Solingen makers, specifically Anton Wingen, Tiger, Richard Abr Herder & C.D.Schaaff. Note the "Geschutzt" word in top right corner of etching, it's a patent protected warning sign for Klaas.
As Fred points out the scabbard, frog and troddel are completely unrelated to this bayonet.
Thank you . Yes the rest not related but could this bring an upgrade?
