My moms friend called me today saying that she has an old bayonet just laying around. She sent some pictures and i couldn't believe my eyes.

I got it for a REALLY good price but i don't know much about these bayo's. Is it original?

    Thanks in advance!

A bit of penetration oil on the button should get it back in place and take care of the rust on the sheath.
It's had a hard life, but who hasn't.

Matching numbers but someone, has had a go at the blade with a grinder and probably shaved half it's value off as well. Nasty dip halfway along the blade.

Thanks agian for commenting everyone. Just a quick question: I read that the N stamp indicates Kriegsmarine? Is that correct?

Serial number do not match. Blade looks like 9762, scabbard 9452.
Do the marking on the handgaurd indicate KM?
I remember seeing a thread on those and saw they are marked on the handguard.
    That one needs so TLC.

A known maker of Naval bayonets, a Kriegsmarine Nordsee marking on the crossguard is what it looks like to me also. AndyB has a register of them and if he sees this thread might have some more information. Best Regards, Fred
