I'm not the greatest expert, and maybe this piece is original, I don't know.
But I quite often see such things at militaria fairs and to me they scream 'Russian Fake !'.
Post war add on. You might want to try a little acetoin nail polish remover. The insignia my be glued on. If they messed up the grip you can just glue it back on. Lets hope they didn't screw up a nice bayonet trying to make it into something it wasn't.
