Got a nice look to it. That skeleton frog I believe is a hard to locate one. Is this the S84/98 model bayonet? Love that sweaty and salty look.

Its a Behoerden S84/98 which is not a WaA proofed production, here most real post 1940production, unfortunally someone wrongly mounted the countersunk as they are wrong way added into grip, is not visible the slot for dissasembly tool, so it should be dissasembled and corectly mounted the countersunk on right grip. The blade is possible lightly sharpened in front part, i would certainly oil the metall parts, the frog is not skeleton, but normal post 1942 combined for wearing with entrenching tool, here is the front pouch cracked evidently by not correct removing. From the shape of using on scabbard i assume this complete was together for long time and possible the bayonet from not high polish on blade could be early 1942 production, for this speaks using of wood grips.
35$?!? What a steal!
Hello,
this is an S84/98 (a Bayonet 98k never existed) from an order from a state organization (SS, SA) or an authority (police, railway protection, etc.). These have no WaA aceptance and often no other markings. Probably made around 1940-1941.
Unfortunately the frog is damaged and the safety strap is missing.
Regards
The flash guard has signs that the hilt has been used as an improvised hammer, (to post notices) which is sometimes seen on Police bayonets. Not proof of which organisation was issued to but perhaps an indication.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment on this bayonet. Regards, Hal
