Krieghoff has been suggested before for the "HK" maker on other threads since this one, but there is some disagreement on that. Krieghoff was more known as a firearm maker and not really much evidence they made bayonets, though it's a convenient fit and I can't think of another option at this point. But the jury is still out.

Same opinion, after some thought and looking at the late Anthony Carter's work that was completed after his very untimely passing I remember where in some of our correspondence he was going to include some corrections and additions in Volume 2. And knowing for a fact that some of the latest maker/TM material that was sent to him never made it into print I suspect that the maker is possibly already in the book, but minus an additional logo/TM. That said, I personally doubt that it's Krieghoff. Best Regards, Fred

Krieghoff also appears in Fishers reference with photos of 3 HK logo variants.
Listed as a Distributor and not a producer.

A Distributor or retailer could be more plausible, but need to ask the question was Fire Dept supplies a business Krieghoff is known to have been involved in?

The point being made about Krieghoff noted , it was not to my knowledge pursuing civilian organizations and personnel like Firemen by making and/or selling what are basically knives to wear while off duty. And where did it find the time and resources to try and get into that market? What can be proved is that the Luftwaffe was a significant recipient of pistols, rifles, shotguns, various machine guns plus that were made by Krieghoff. And if it for some reason Krieghoff wanted to get into the civilian (or military) off duty or service blade market - where are they? Best Regards, Fred
