    here is a first Luftwaffe a friend brought this over to to sell. I Was not interested because the scabbard doesn't match the dagger. It has aluminum fittings and this was a year ago. Did I mess up?

    You did good by passing it up then; in my opinion, that price is too steep.

    Im apt to think this was a shortened DLV...Im curious of the reverse side of the scabbard fitting if it has a raised staple.

    Well my friend a shortened DLV (Balloon) would never have aluminium fittings and chain

    the Pack dagger itself is a late Zinker with the typical triple gripwire.
    The scabbard being also na late one with alu fittings and chain could be a replacement as these late Pack lufts type 1 we normally see with plated iron fittings instead of aluminium.
    The leathering on that scabbard doesnt look period either, so better pics would be needed to verify that.
    1000 for sure is way to steep, with a price of 600-650 usd i would feel a lot more comfortable.
