Luftwaffe 2nd Model Dagger - WKC

I apologize for all the photos. Here is my 2nd model luft with minty blade and the fixings by WKC. Blade has all the crossgrain. Fittings and scabbard showcase a nice airplane grey. Hangers and portapee are a nice addition as well. If it had the gilding on the swaz it would be perfect. It has been there and I have had this one for over 20 years. I began collecting dress daggers when I was in my teens 40 years ago with my Opa. Looking at the details and intricate features of these pieces is a study for sure. With photography you can really drill down to see the craftsmanship and design.

By no means do I relish their back story. It is tragedy and horrific wicked past in what Hitler's machine did. It is history and least we forget the sacrifices of those who perished at his hands. The fact many fought to liberate and save the world from tyranny is what I remember when I hold a piece of history like this. We must preserve artifacts of history so the next generation can understand. I am grateful to those like Opa who fought in WWII and all service men and women.
