Luftwaffe boot knife?

This knife came up for sale at a local country auction recently, and I sprung at it. Now, I will be the first to admit that I don’t know much about these knives and so I’d like to get the groups opinion about whether it’s genuine or not. It has only the one mark on it, a droop-winged eagle with number 6. Thanks!

An original in nice condition.
The ones marked with a 6 are of a slightly better construction that those marked with a 5, IMO.
