SMF Luftwaffe Sword For Review

I am still looking for a nice Luftwaffe sword to pick up and came across this one. It is marked with the SMF maker's mark and was hoping to get some confirmation on what I have been trying to piece together about it. It appears to me to be an early nickel silver example and from what I can tell, appears to be original and in good condition. Does anyone see any red flags that I am missing or have any thoughts they think I should consider? Is the felt and leather carrying case something they originally came with, and any thoughts on its authenticity, if so?

Real sword it’s a must to get the leather hanger which this has . Can’t help on the bag I have never seen one before. Rob

Chris, In agreement, it's a very nice Luftwaffe sword. The bag from the image, while it's not an area where I have a lot of experience and seems to a little less worn that the sword, I think is most probably a good one and an extra plus. Well Done !!! Best Regards, Fred

Bag is a nice original with leather reinforcement to the tip.
I have owned several and this one fits my reference pieces.
The scabbard hanger has a repair on the left side, leather was broken.
Other then that a decent early Nickelsilver piece.
i like it!
