    Default Kantine rings.......

I had some questions on kantine rings. I have desired a totenkopf ring for some time, however they're out of my price range rather them but a replica, I was thinking of purchasing a original kantine ring, to wear. How many variations are there? Was there multiple styles? Are there any common hallmarks? From reading old posts, I see many possible variations, but I'm wanting one that would have been ordered directly off of a soldiers can find. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kristian!
    Difficult questions you have.
I would say german made period skull rings exist in variants for sure more than 100 different patterns from different manufacturers. Different materials were used.
Most common is silver, brass and variants of german silver (Alpacca, Goldin ....).
Silver content was most 800, 830 or 835. Higher Content was rather seldom. 925 was to 99 % not used in such stuff.

A book about this stuff is nearly ready and i think it will be aviable end of this year.
