I’m thinking it might be a fake, mostly due to the fact, it’s marked 800 silver but looks like the silver plating has worn off. Especially in the last photo.
is the silver plating worn off or is it scratches on the ring?
No plating. The ring is made of silver. What you see is the brown patina with scratches in it.
Might be a reflection, a photo in natural light of the bottom would help.
Silver doesn’t tarnish to brown.
There are some excellent ring collectors here, they should be along soon.
It looks like the paint is over the scratches... I wouldn't trust this ring.
Thank you all for your reply to my ring.

This ring looks fine to me.

Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)
Ralph, thank you for your reply.
I would have no issue with this ring, nice wear and rounding to the edges from use.
Common-ish item. I'm fairly sure its enamel not paint.
