Hi Lori,

here is my evidence that this ring design is WW2 period. The ring you showed looks like a casting, which means it's fake IMO. But better quality photos are needed to give a final verdict.

Here is a similar Skull ring was found during the excavation of a LW crew member from Kampfgeschwader 54 'Totenkopf'.
As you can see in the photo, the root of the tree sprouted through the ring

Thanks Sergey. That is an amazing photo! So this is indeed a WW2 pattern. I see that I already commented on your post in 2018. You live and learn. Then you do it again! I must be getting old...
