What can we say about this ring, the original is from a west wall catalogue i acquired from a thread in the forum and the other is currently for sale, claiming to be authentic.
My initial impression is that its a fake, seems excessively unnaturally worn, engraving below "WEST" seems off, the WEST text in itself feels off a bit as well, teeth seem wrong as well, skull structure seems more of a square than an oval as seen in the original.
Judgement: Post-war replica or just another fake
We'll leave it to the experts and fellow ring collectors.
I appreciate all the help, I have been reading a lot of threads and slowly becoming more familiar with identifying and judging these historical rings.
