    Larry, I believe it’s supposed to be a Jewish armband but my first reaction to the armband is it’s a fake. The construction and condition looks Contrived.

    Googled Eilbote if that's the correct spelling , Operation Eilbote german attack in Tunisia 1943 ,don't know if that's anything to do with it, Regards Paul

    I would be very surprised if the armband was connected to the assault on Tunisia ...yet why would anyone advertise that and wear it on their arm?

    It's supposed to be a jewish ghetto armband of some kind

    As already said... a repro Jewish ghetto armband. Still available for about $20... and sold as a repro too.

    Eilboten was a position involved in delivering messages inside the self governed ghetto, Kovno for example. It was indeed a courier of sorts. Youngsters, not yet of age for work detail, were often used in the position and were assigned courier numbers and armbands by the council of Jewish elders. The example shown above is not an original.
