Various scenes of the Allgem. SS in Berlin.
another image...the so called Absperrdienst. Notice the different caps as well as the different length of the skirt in the tunic. You see the new cap badges and the old cap badges worn together. Just the sort of detail to make the collector dogmatist and rule maker's brain erupt. However, this is how it was in which ever year we have, which is 1936, I think here. I believe this is 1 May 1936...
Here in the winter vs. the springtime. The date: 30 Jaunary 1937. These men are in front of the Kroll Opera and the Siegesaeule. The latter was moved by Speer to the grosser Stern on the Ost-Westachse in 1939. It was recently much seen in Berlin. The Berliners call the Siegesaeule Goldelse after the goddess of victory. These SS men are involved in a Reichstag speech of the Fuehrer. In January 1937 this place was called the Koenigplatz, today it is the Platz der Republik. There is no trace of the Kroll Oper any more. The other landmarks near the Reichstag are all the new buildings put up since unification.
Where are these uniforms today? I have never seen one from this Berlin Standarte?
Another scene....A Berlin Allgem. SS man off for Staatsschutz along with his brood.
Great pics, keep em' comming!
A review in so. Germany....perhaps Munich, at a Kreistag review. 11. X. 1936
Hindenburg and Goering review an SS guard, in 1933-4.
Himmler inspects SS units shortly before the 30 June 1934 Roehm Putsch...so says the picture caption...but sharper eyes can distinguish more clearly the date of this image granted Heini Himmler's collar patches.
Ah the good old days
Looks like Eicke and a young Karl Wolff with the aiguillette?
