Beware of this tailor label!

In doing research on SS uniforms I'd discovered something that a reproducer has made in a large number. I'd seen one SS tunic show up with this tailor label recently and there is bound to be more.

The tunic also featured a black felt lining over the collar backsides, something I'd never seen before. This feature is sold by Hessen Antiques and is being sold as reproduction.

The reproducers are really refining what they are producing so if your considering purchasing any tunic with this tailors label & or the black felt collar backing there is a high probability that the garment is not original.

Don't be taken in by these things, it would end up being an expensive education!!!

This "Guetezeichen des Herrenschneiderhandwerks" Label did really exist and has been quite common in the 1930s-40s. But the real ones looked little different either:
