I have seen some odd arm bands in historical pictures, but I am pretty certain that's a lousy fake. Sorry.
You can easily find cotton SS arm bands that are cheap and totally original.
Thank you Friedrich, much obliged.
The only problem I have now is that I just purchased this on WAF after attempting for a day to get the pros there to provide opinions without any luck.
I obviously should have come here seeking answers first.
Let me see what I can do about reversing the transaction.
Thanks again.
I have to agree I also do not like that armband.
WAF has a lot of bad items for sell be carful.

Yes edelweiss123 I did pay via Paypal.
The seller has accepted the payment but I'm going to contact him and ask that he kindly return it in view of the opinions I have received.
Thanks for the advice.
Sincere thanks for the opinion Chris.
The truth is painful but less agonizing than owning fake junk.
Well I obviously need to practice more caution going forward.
Well this certainly proves yet again the ole adage "if it sounds to be good to be true it probably is".
Sorry. I hate to bear bad news. Again, the only real way to know is to examine it. Surely the early SS used very crude insignia, but the profusion of fake brassards is well registered in the firmament. Old cotton is distinct, has a special odor, and shows age in a special way. However, the crooks also recycle old cotton, too......real shifty.
We have had an upswing of mayhem recently.
