The eightieth anniversary of the murder of Engelbert Dollfuss and otherwise the Nazi uprising in the Staendestaat is nigh.
Here is an excellent website with useful data.
The SS in Austria at this time was a terrorist organization.

No matter where you look, the past looms in the present across a continent that is somehow no longer as peaceful and content as a decade ago.
Many use history as a weapon, whereas our goal is knowledge, and to overcome the hatred and bitterness that were native to many of the people and things we work so hard to analyze. This international website
signifies a victory over such violent ideas and deeds.
If I may add to this thread concerning Osterreich and the early putsch. A dagger from my collection marked with an "Oe" gruppe mark extremely rare given the fact that this SA gruppe were disbanded shortly thereafter and reorganized under a new SA Gruppe.."Nw" Nordwesthilfeswerk. Just a hiding place for those assisting in the putsch.
Below is the link to the thread..and also a bio of the SA commander in Austria during that period.

I do not think anyone could disagree - the past looms in the present . . . and that - at least in some regions of the globe - there now exists places no longer as peaceful and content as a decade ago.
But I also feel we must not be so fast to pride ourselves for being so open in sharing our knowledge, assuming it will always do better to deter the situation. There are certainly those of us who bear [what one might say are] felicitous internal convictions for the knowledge we have obtained . . . but there are also those, who do not fully fathom the purpose for which it is that we share such knowledge. There is, without a doubt, some level of predilection in many of these discussions - albeit not immediately conspicuous to the layman. And, my contentions are - perhaps - we must at times be cautious, as we may also be somewhat responsible for the proliferation of such discontent . . . like it, or not.

From your photo essay you seem to be saying that the Anschluss of Austria and the dismemberment of Czechoslovakia are similar and National Socialist engineered. I know you have much more detail knowledge on the subject than I do! The National Socialist sure did wish to unite all German speaking peoples. It seems to me that the reason for Austria's existence disappeared with the end of the Habsburg Monarchy. I understand many Austrians may not have wanted to come under National Socialist rule.
Czechoslovakia may very well have been an artificial state, but Czechs & Slovaks do have a national identity. The Czech Crisis seems to be much more of a National Socialist organized setup.
