I wonder, how did Fuss Standarte eek into the secondary works? I know Mollo uses the term in his volumes. Thank you for the post as I use this term, incorrectly, as well and did not really know any better or really give it the proper amount of thought.

CMH

Here is an excerpt from the German illustrated military dictionary ca. 1897 as to relevant terms.
One spoke of artillery on foot, versus that on horseback.

I will have to look elsewhere.
I do not know how the term became generalized, I guess through Mollo.
Maybe Wim or someone else has the citation in an original document?

We did a whole thread on the Rassenreferenten within the Allgemeine SS Standarten.
This man's uniform was faked, by the way. Andreas can recall the story.
I agree with Adrian and Bob that your thing looks more real than not.
A rare and desirable item. Darre's role in the SS is just as compelling as that of the young buck Junkerschule Panzerknacker.
Thank you Friedrich, it's very interesting !
Could you remember us the link please
Thank you very much for your help ! appreciate

Andreas will have to find it. I do not recall. Or look in the search function.
In any case, your badge looks fairly real. The trick is to get one on a real black tunic.

Yes, but we had others, too....knowledge found no where else at all.

In fact we have a thread on the man in the photograph, Josef Reiter:
Sta 31 Niederbayern portrait.

Bravo, Andreas, my memory is just a foggy mess. We would be lost without you.

Thanks Andreas !
