I picked this up from a friend and I have trouble determining real ones, unless it a real bad fake.
Thanks,
Marty

The photos are not great and perhaps you should try to make some clear ones in daylight. It resembles a Danziger skull in the first pattern used by the SS. The damage or perhaps cast inclusion on the left near the nose and eye cavity do concern me a bit.. the rest looks pretty well and how it should be. Interested to see what others here have to say about this piece!

Thank you. I will take better pictures tonight.

More pictures. It came in this box and he was a Vet with the 814th TD’s. There’s a P38 I’m hold to by that he brought home.

Marty, as hard as I stare at it I still can't tell if it's damage to the metal or casting flaws. Let's see if carllson can give us his expertise. Al
It looks like a casting flaw to me

If this was damage it was done in a strange way. You can clearly see that the metal is pointing upwards, but also downwards and between those points are weird lines that you also see on castings.
It can just be the photo, but in hand inspection like you did yourself tells a lot more!
Lets hope others will comment on this piece. Goodluck,

Is there a corresponding mark on the inside of the eyebrow?
Ralph.
