Schwarze SS Tuchmütze, Clemens Wagner

My latest addition is this this jaunty looking SS Tuchmütze by Clemens Wagner. This visor is very well worn and has taken on a nice saddle shape. The visor sweatband is dated 1937, not an early cap however it has a very fragile interior. I rebadged the cap with a stunning cupal Deschler set.

For the interior shots I'll add the original website photo's because I want to minimize handling the fragile interior. It has the first version of the black labels instituted around 1937, and I darkened the image to reveal the faint maker number 4, Clemens Wagner.

The RZM stamp is rather sloppy on this cap but I have seen evidence of this on other authentic caps

Here is another sloppy rzm stamp on a Wagner cap with evidence of overuse of ink. Not as bad as mine but you can see the similarities.

Very nice addition Al. Looks great. That is also one heck of a set you put on that visor. Very impressive.

Really enjoy looking at all your visors however it does not help my pocket book lol.

Yes I do sir. I'm working ot as fast as I can for this hobby. Hopefully the collecting gods help me locate an outstanding wss em someday. That's highest on my list. I do have a new cap coming as you know but not waffen lol.

Sweet Al. I think you are cornering the market on these. Is an Officers example on the horizon soon? (although I personally prefer the enlisted examples myself).

Thanks Michael, I do love the EM versions as well. The problem is that officer models are almost twice as much and when I start to save money for one, a nice EM cap comes along and I blow the funds. Also the fact that I have so many TK's and eagles allows me to buy stripped down or poorly badged caps and bring them back to par for less cost. Honestly I never thought I'd own one let alone 5 black caps. This is highly addictive
