Default SS-BW Marked Tunic, too god to be true? please help!

    Hello gentlemen!

SS militaria is not my main focus, so I would love to get some advice on that one.

This tunic was just offered to me.

It has SS-BW markings and what looks like a RB Nr. Underneath.
That should be a red flag as far as I know.

But maybe it's just a matter I didn't know about yet.

The condition is pretty mint, thats another reason I have worries that it's a reproduction.

The fabric is kind of roughly woven. That kind of textile I have only seen on reproduction Field caps.

From my gut feeling I would tend towards a recent production date but maybe someone can help me out.

I would love to own a real SS tunic but it's a minefield and there is so much to look out for.
But I don't want to miss out on a good one, only because I didn't asked for help.

Please give me thumbs up or down, that I don't get burned.

Thanks and greetings from northern Germany!

You will need to provide far better images than these, I should think.
Sharp, clear details are always important for a good appraisal.
    Good luck!

Thanks for your quick reply Kohima!

Unfortunately I am still waiting for better pictures.
The ones I've attached are the only picture I have til now.

Maybe I can provide better pictures later on.

I was thinking that maybe it's so obviously fake or maybe real, that one can judge it from these pictures.

    Any information is highly appreciated.

Ive read that it's a very bad sign that there seems to be an RB Nr and a SS BW marking at the same time.
Is that right? Than the jacket is definitely not a real piece.

Also the fabric on the underside of the collar is the same as on the outside.
Most tunics I've seen have a different fabric or lining material underneath the collar.

Could that be another reason the jacket is bad?

The fact that I 'm still waiting for better pictures should raise suspicion enough, i believe.

But as I said, I don't want to miss out on a maybe good tunic, because I didn't ask ....
But I don't want to get burned either 😉
    Thanks and regards!

Based on what I see, I am not convinced, though, admittedly, I am no expert on SS tunics.
You are wise to wait for more educated response.
It has, presumably, been offered to others and has not yet been snapped up… another hint.
