SS General officers shoulder board
Hello. A fellow collector saw this board in a collection thread I started. He needs a board like this but I don't have the expertise to say this is real. I have owned this at least 25 years so it isn't a recent repo. It is extra long 14.6 cm x 3.2. Thanks in advance for some expert opinions.

The badge cloth, too, is not right.
Sorry, hate to disappoint, but better to be disappointed in a case like this.
badge cloth looks like this.
Badge cloth in its best variety is 100% wool, and fine in appearance, without a coarse weave.....that's the theory.
I collect things more or less from 1932 until about 1940 or so, so my generalizations are based on this body of evidence.

the badge cloth on the original strap here looks like burlap or canvas.
or, a lousy grade of woolen which is unwarranted in the original.
