Can anyone help?
the buckram backing does not look correct. the image is a yellow tone whereas the backing is more a burlap color. That material just does not look correct.
That might be caused by the filters of the camera used to take the image as the black backing also looks like it is a wool type material.
Also the brass tabs have no corrosion on them but look where they rest, what is the white on the black backing material? Hard to say due to the filters used to take images.
The pips pins are apparently glued down, which is very odd, and seem to place in punched holes made in the tab, which wasn’t done on originals.
I must of looked at a good 20-25 collar tabs reverse side under this key word search: SS Collar tabs
Do a web search and draw your conclusion from that.
And this thread on this forum of odd ball type buckram materials. The one listed 24 is most closest to the typical buckram material as well.
SS Collar Tabs - Various
And this link shows the most common type buckram:
https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/attac...tab-img208.jpg
Also, none of the few SS collar tabs I have in my collection match that buckram.
And the glue? Why? the buckram on some of the listed collar tabs look like they have a shellac coating, but not gobs of glue holding the pips tabs in place.
Did you purchase this or considering to do so?
