Re: Suppression of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising 1943
Quite the fascinating variety of uniforms in the photos. I'd have given a pretty bit to have the SS double breasted leather trench coat in the second photo. Is the identity of the brutish wolf-like faced SS officer in the front right side of the 7th photo known? And, I wonder, what was the story of the man in the 8th photo with the Police patch on his sleeve? And who is the extremely Portly SS officer standing Behind him? I kinda doubt that he passed the physical requirements that year...A true Nordic God, that lad was...

Re: Suppression of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising 1943
During the early days of the uprising the fighters raised two flags atop a building; alongside the Polish white and red national flag flew the ZZW ghetto fighters bicolour white and blue banner.
Żydowski Związek Wojskowy or ŻZW – The Jewish Military Organization (Irgun Zvai Yehudi) was closely tied to the Armia Krajowa and as a consequence its role in the ghetto uprising was suppressed by the Polish communist regime as opposed to ZOB who were not so close to the AK.
