Can anyone identify this uniform.
Can anyone identify this uniform.
Hello and welcome to the forum!
The wings on his sleeve look Allied to me.
Ralph.
Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)
Definitely not allied, he was conscripted into German forces when he fled from Ukraine in 1944(?).
What caught my eye was the trousers, they look out of place with the rest of the uniform. There does not seem any way to identify the cap badge or belt buckle.
Thanks for the reply!
I magnified the cap image and sleeve eagle and both are definitely SS. I will move this to the SS Forum. He is definitely some form of foreign conscript.

Looks to had been censored or had some details erased at some point .
Thank You for the information. His mother always said that she thought he was SS but we didn't believe her. Is there anyway I can search SS records?
There are professional researchers who have access to the SS files held at the National Archives in Washington DC. Two that come to mind are Westmorland Research and Robert McDivitt. There is no fee if tey can not find any information. I am sure both can be found by Google. Did this young man survive the war? Where was he from?

Well the front of his cap where the skull would have been looks like it's been smudged , same were the arm eagle would have been . Also looks like a SS or military style buckle . This censorship might have done by the family post-war , to erase the SS affiliation after fall of the Iron Curtain .
