“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Being new to the forum, I am having the pleasing experience of wading through the threads and finding some rather nice photographs. The general at post number #10 is not "unknown" (well, not to me anyway)
Generalleutnant z.D. Johannes von Hahn (1862-1945), former commander of 35. Division is wearing the relatively rare and impressive Order of the Red Eagle 2nd Class with Oakleaves, Swords and Crown. He was awarded the Crown to his already held 2nd Class with Oakleaves, Swords and (Breast Star) on 18 July 1918.

charakterisierter Generalmajor a.D. Adolf Buchholz (1866-1958) at post number #7 was obviously struggling with his aiguillette that day! The General was given a brevet promotion to that rank on retirement on 30.10.1920. He had previously commanded the 23. Infanterie-Brigade.

Glenn
