Thanks for the better pictures. So it is black with red piping. It looks better in these shots. However I still believe it's certainly not a WW2 cap. It is quite possibly a imperial or Bavarian cap from WW1, it has imo some extensive poor quality restoration work done to it. I think it did have a lower red pipe on the band pipe above the visor peak, it s evident by the loose threads seen where the piping would of been, in the new pictures. The visor had been painted and or replaced/resewn? The black interior is still peculiar. I would post it in the imperial section and see if a positive identification can be determined, orador and or stonemint will certainly be of some help im sure. Best regards.
