Because I have nothing to go off would they be a good reference.

Actually and with all due respect not so, as this buckle per se has been shown and discussed within the Forum on numerous occasions. A search will reveal some interesting posts, although the WRF search facility is of extremely limited efficacy, to put it mildly.by Coreynewzealand
For the buckle shown, in my opinion it is one of the so called modern and museum produced souvenirs and is not original or period.
