A Berndorfer

Article about: Please pardon my ignorance, BUT What is a Berndorfer? I can see its a helmet, but I've never seen/heard of one before. Could someone be so kind as to enlighten me on the subject?

    Hello Steve, I do not know why is it called Hungarian, but it is often practice in literature. As I said, Berdorf where the helmets was produced by Krupp-Berdorf, is in Austria so how could it be Hungarian. Hungarian units - Honved, had the same equipment like the rest of KuK army.

    I have 2 classic Berdorfs and 5 M17 of that producer

    Default Is this a berndorfer?

    My friend thought he was buying a German M18 and this arrived. Looks like the one posted above, but a person on WAF identified it as a Hungarian M17. It does not look like the Hungarian M17 pictures I have seen. Note the liner rivets are in back of lugs, not in front. It looks to have been recently repainted. What do you think?
