Both swords are good. While the price sounds "OK" it is worth shopping around if you are buying a Heer Officers sword. They are not rare and can be found in lots of different patterns. As always, go for the best condition item you can afford.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Here is the sellers description:
"Original era manufacture. Eickhorn pattern No.1714, Freiherr von Stein. Gilded brass guard & pommel, both decorated with an oakleaf decoration. On the left langet may be seen an Army pattern eagle clutching a swastika. The blade is quite bright and clean and is fairly straight, very slight bend towards the tip. Black plastic covered wooden grip with bright silver plated copper, 3 strand wire wrapping. The undented steel scabbard shows a black paint finish with numerous little chips to the surface. Shows normal wear and use."
I beleive the sellers description is correct going by Angolia's "Edged Weaponry of the Third Reich"
